The World Series of Poker Has Started

Wild West Poker… and here is how you can qualify online!

While there are 1000’s of live poker tournaments taking place around the world each year, there is only one title which really matters… The World Series of Poker takes place each June and July in Las Vegas, Nevada. The winner of the ‘Main Event’ each year is considered the world champ. The big $10k buy-in event is just one of more than 60 tournaments which award coveted bracelets to the winners. The prize pools, well, they are staggering!

You can win your way to the World Series of Poker online – via promotions and satellite tournaments at different poker sites. Below I have listed 3 promos which are already up and running. You should keep your eyes open for more as the Main Event comes closer (that takes place in early July).

It is possible to win a package which includes $10 buy-in for the Main Event, hotel accommodation for your stay, plus expenses for your flight and food. Who knows, when that televised final table begins, it could be you sat shoulder to shoulder with the pros!

US Friendly World Series of Poker Qualifiers – America’s Cardroom Poker

WSOP Buck HuntUnlike many other poker rooms, the WSOP promotion at America’s Cardroom is aimed at cash game players.

This promotion is called ‘Buck Hunt’. What happens is that special chips appear on cash game tables (both 6 max and 9 handed). If you react fast and click on this chip first, you will win a prize. Prizes range from cash (starting at just 10c) to a $12,500 World Series of Poker prize package.

These prizes can be won at any buy-in level, from 5c / 10c blinds and up. What you will find is that the bigger prizes are proportionally more common at the higher buy-ins.

Last year, ACR Poker also has Main Event qualifiers as prizes for their ‘Jackpots’. These are a lottery Sit N Go variant which play 3 handed with 500 starting chips and turbo blinds. I also recommend that you keep an eye on the multi-table tournament schedule.

Worldwide WSOP Qualifier Option #1 – 888 Poker

888 Are a major sponsor of the WSOP, and partner with Caesars for the Nevada based poker room. If you are located within Nevada, you can qualify on that site – though for this section my focus is on the main 888 Site, which welcomes players from around the world.

888 Poker, the global site, is the 2nd largest poker room – with players from all over the world found at the tables. They have a tournament qualifier schedule, which awards $12,500 packages to the winners. The main qualifiers are on Sundays, though you’ll find sub-qualifiers going on every day. These start at just $5, low enough to give players with smaller bankrolls a shot.

I have covered the different options in depth over at my other gambling site, Sit and Go Planet. You’ll find the page right here.

Worldwide WSOP Qualifier Option #2 – Party Poker

This is not officially a WSOP qualifier, instead Party Poker are running qualifiers to a ‘Las Vegas Party’. This just happens to be at the same time as the Main Event, and just happens to include $10k for a tournament entry + hotel stay and expenses. Well, if it walks like a duck…

Even after all these years, Party Poker is still the site that people think of first when they begin playing online poker. Combine this with the missions and PokerFest promos, and you’ll also see that Party Poker focus on recreational type players.

Their LV Party qualifiers run in a tiered system, with the lowest buy-ins just $1. If you do not want to fight the crazy players at this level, you can buy-in right up to $525 instead.

Double your money when you deposit at the famous Party Poker by using bonus code PBCLUB.
