Euro 2020 Soccer Favorites: France
France has an amazing record in major international tournaments in recent years.
In 2018 they became World Champions for the second time after defeating Croatia 4-2 in the final. And they reached the final of Euro 2016, a narrow extra time defeat to Portugal costing them a chance of victory.
In qualifying for this tournament, France held off a resurgent Turkey to win the group. Striker Olivier Giroud top scored with six goals in the campaign. With players such as Kylian Mbappe and Antoine Griezmann in their squad, France are sure to be a force again in 2021.
The only worry for Les Bleus is their ‘group of death’ alongside Germany, Portugal, and Hungary. With only two teams guaranteed to progress, they will need to come out of the blocks quickly.
Euro 2020 Soccer Favorites: England
England have famously failed to win a major soccer championship since they won the World Cup at home in 1966.
It is a lot like a home tournament for England this time around. Home games are held at Wembley Stadium during the group stage and potentially the last 16. If England make it this far, they may also enjoy home field advantage for the semi-final and final.
With this home advantage it is little surprise to see England at the top of the markets. In qualifying England won seven of their eight games, with Harry Kane scoring 12 goals (more than any other player in the qualifying competition). The 2018 World Cup semi-finalists face Croatia (who defeated them in that semi-final), the Czech Republic and a mouth-watering clash with local rivals Scotland in the group stage.
Euro 2021 Soccer Favorites: Belgium
In recent years Belgium have been the most consistent team in World soccer. Their number one world ranking is testament to that. Belgium lost 1-0 to France in the semi-final of the 2018 World Cup - a match which many rightly predicted the winner would come from. In qualifying, Belgium were perfect, winning all ten games, scoring 40 goals and conceding just 3.
With world class stars such as Romelo Lukaku, Kevin De Bruyne and Eden Hazard, they will be a force for anyone. Facing Denmark, Finland, and Russia in the group stage, they are strong favorites to progress as group winners.

Euro 2021 Soccer Favorites: Spain
A decade ago, Spain were the dominant force in world football. They won three major championships in a row (the European Championships of 2008 and 2012, and the 2010 World Cup sandwiched in the middle). While not quite so dominant today, Spain still impress, and it would be a surprise not to see them in the latter stages.
Spain were unbeaten in qualifying (eight wins and two draws). Players including Alvaro Morata, Ferran Torres and Gerard Moreno are expected to provide the goals. Spain face Sweden, Poland, and Slovakia in what could be considered a ‘kind’ group.
Euro 2021 Soccer Favorites: Germany
In the 2018 World Cup Germany suffered a shock group phase exit after a famous extra-time defeat to South Korea. They are now ranked number 12 in the World. This is one of the lowest rankings you’ll ever see for the usually successful and very consistent German national team. However, in qualifying they topped a tough group that featured the Netherlands, scoring 30 goals in their 8 games.
The recall of Thomas Muller has raised eyebrows, a player who has consistently performed well at major tournaments (Muller won the Golden Boot at the 2010 World Cup). If Germany progress from the group of death, they will be a tough opponent for anyone in the knockout stages.
